Let’s get ready to rumbleeeeee, tech startups! Atlanta Startup Battle launches this fall, on October 27, with a $100,000 quarterly competition. Yes, that’s $400,000 in investable dollars up for the taking every year.
The competition, hosted at TechSquare Labs, will provide local startups the unique opportunity to interact with local and outside early stage investors and venture capitalists with available investable dollars. (Freshen up on those investor tips right here.) After the application period ends on September 22, the Top 10 teams will continue on to a full day of invaluable mentoring on October 22. The day will include sessions with seasoned tech entrepreneurs on go-to market strategies, business development advice, user experience design, fundraising, and pitch preparation. At the end of the day, those 10 startups will pitch once again to make it to the final five.
The first Atlanta Startup Battle Top 5 will be judged by three active Atlanta venture investors and two investors from San Francisco, California. Judges are: Mark Buffington, BIP Capital; Kirby Harris, Base Ventures; Michelle Jarrard, GRA Venture Fund; Sig Mosely, Mosley Ventures; and Michael Neril, Spider Capital. These investors actively manage over $200 million of early stage technology investable capital and their current portfolios include over 100 companies.
The investors will be on site to judge the Top 5 startups on October 27 and award one winner the grand prize of $100K and of course, priceless advice to scale their company.
“I am excited to host Atlanta Startup Battle,” said TechSquare Labs co-founder Allen Nance. “As we say at TechSquare Labs, building something from nothing is hard. This event will give entrepreneurs a repeatable way to engage mentors, other entrepreneurs, and receive funding.”
Applications are open from Sept. 1 to Sept. 28. If you’re in it to win it, pitch your startup right here.
