Startup School Opens With A Bang in Ponce City Market

To celebrate the opening of their permanent space in Ponce City Market, General Assembly is throwing an incredible week of events. With over 25 options (many are free) there’s something to suit everyone.   • Lunch & Learn: Idea to MVP and Beyond: Learn how to use the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) philosophy to test and validate your ideas with the least amount of work required. Monday, 3/23 11:30 AM – 1 PM
  • Mobile Development for Non Programmers: This class will tell you how to teach yourself to code as well as set up a developer account with Apple, which resources and tools to take advantage of in your development career, and how to distribute your app. Tuesday, 3/24 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Sketch Before You Etch: How to Prototype Like a Boss: You and your team will be able to start your project with a better understanding of your users’ needs, learn to lessen the risk of overspending on development and ultimately end up with a better design much faster.   • Pivot Your Career: This event will go over all the potential rewards for changing careers, how to figure out what career should be pursued, and how to mitigate risks before changing careers. Wednesday, 3/25 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM (Talent Zoo, Wix, The Muse)
  • Atlanta Startup Battle – VIP Event: Thursday, 3/26 6 PM – 7 PM (Must enter Digital Contest to attend)
  • Coding for Beginners: HTML & CSS: This session will go over key coding terminology and principles, introduce languages like HTML and CSS, and use that new knowledge to write your own code and develop a simple site. Friday, 3/27 11:30 AM – 1 PM
  • Tumblr + Dash Hack Day: Meet and work alongside other hackers in the making in navigating through fun coding tutorials to build a custom Tumblr theme. Walk away with a better understanding of front-end web development and meet like-minded friends also new to code. Saturday, 3/28 10 AM – 4 PM
