Food innovators, let’s talk urban ag
The City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Resilience is teaming up with co-organizers Agritecture Consulting and AgTech X for AgLanta, the Southeast’s largest urban agriculture conference. Now in its third year, this two-day gathering brings together hundreds of agriculture leaders, food system innovators, and public officials, along with a mixture of other passionate entrepreneurs, investors, and educators.
This year AgLanta will spotlight Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Attendees will hone in on crucial stages of company development by participating in tours, networking, speaker sessions, creative workshops, and (of course) locally-sourced meals.
Day 1
Attendees will tour local farms and food businesses to observe the diversity of approaches within the urban agriculture field. The day will culminate with a networking session and happy hour, plus a keynote from Ryan Gravel. The visionary behind the Atlanta Beltline project, Gravel is an urban designer, speaker, and author of Where We Want to Live.
Day 2
The second day is jam-packed with programming including specialized workshops, innovative exhibitors, and industry-leading speakers who will highlight the challenges, opportunities, successes, and failures they’ve experienced within the urban ag industry.
The big questions we’ll tackle
- What will the future look like for urban areas defined by a strong local food system?
- How can the urban agriculture movement better connect into parallel sustainable urban development movements such as the circular economy, green buildings, and clean energy?
- What role can innovation & entrepreneurship play in Atlanta’s development as a leader in the urban agriculture and local food system movement? What other cities should we look to for inspiration?
If you’re looking to make 2019 the year you commit to finding your role in the movement toward a better food system, this conference is a can’t miss. Join 350+ urban agriculturalists, smart city innovators, and policy makers for the third annual AgLanta Conference, April 14-15.
