The Great SXSW Migration Begins; SXSW ATL Bus Leads the Way

At the stroke of midnight, the SXSW ATL Bus hit the road for Austin.

Like the swallows of Capistrano, startups and tech folks are making their way to SXSW. For the first time, members of the Atlanta startup community are heading to SXSW on a bus (you might have heard about this). Thanks to the leadership of James Harris (co-founder and Chief Storyteller of N4MD) and support from ATDC and Hypepotamus, the “SXSW Bus 2013” became a reality. It is in fact being called an “upscale road trip.”

Riding that bus will be six Atlanta-based startup teams on the bus; two of which are women led and half are led by ethnic minorities. And for a lot of people riding the bus, this will be there first trip, including Nawar Alsafar of Augur.io. And they are excited about the opportunity, including Techturized’s CEO, Candace Mitchell who said, she’s excited about growing their brand and audience with all the great people who will be there.

For complete profiles and other inside details about the bus check out the SXSWATLBus blog and stay tuned as the teams on the bus blog, tweet, etc. There will even be a reporter from Creative Loafing documenting everything.

We wish all those riding the SXSW ATL bus safe travels and hope you all get some great opportunities while you’ll out there. We’ll be here supporting you and talking about you the whole time. And for more information check out this post and this post by Venture Atlanta.
