Despite the grey skies and cloudy weather, Startup Bonfire @ Start Camp was a huge success. Over 125 people made the trek to Serenbe, including a solid contingent of Summer Startup Academy students, to join us out in the beautiful sustainable development. Right before dinner a few groups toured the beautiful community by James Harris, who prior to starting N4MD owned the green grocery store in the little town.
Dinner in one word: amazing. The food, especially the fried chicken, came from legendary roots as the chef’s mother started the famous Mary Mac’s tea room. The meal was hearty, filling, and delicious. The only regret of some people was that they couldn’t compete in the S’mores Eating Contest with Badgy’s own Daniel Sims taking home the championship belt.
As the evening wound down, in between brief showers, there were kids canoeing, people telling stories, and a nice fire for s’mores. As the showers cleared off, the bonfire was blazing, acoustic guitars serenaded, and some great stories were told. Don’t worry if you missed it, these photos will show you what it was really like.
