Are you ready for a 54-hour hackathon?
In collaboration with the Global Shapers Atlanta Hub, Techstars welcomes Startup Weekend to Atlanta, May 18-20. Startup Weekend brings together designers, developers, marketers and startup enthusiasts to share ideas, form teams and launch business ventures. Participants select ideas with the most promise and make as much progress on the business as possible over the course of only 54 hours. In addition, business leaders and mentors are on hand to share their insights and experience.
This immersive three day experience is designed to launch new ventures
Entrepreneurs will gather at Atlanta Tech Village for the event, and be immersed in the ideal environment for startup magic to happen. Surrounded by smart, passionate people, with the best tools and resources at your disposal, participants will take giant leaps toward creating a business, becoming a founder, and connecting with the right team.
Since 2007, Techstars Startup Weekend has taken place in over 150 countries with more than 200,000 alumni. Participants who take their product or business idea to the next level then join a worldwide network of entrepreneurs.
Techstars Startup Weekend officially kicks off May 18 at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. May. 20.
What do you need to bring?
Lots of energy! Attendees will pitch their own idea or listen to others, then vote on the most interesting ideas and form teams with diverse skill sets. You can come with friends, but you’ll get the full experience if you participate in separate teams. Remember, it’s all about the team.
Your idea should be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues. Over the course of the weekend you’ll be challenged to create a prototype of your minimum viable product that fits the needs of your target customer. You’ll get feedback, iterate, and likely pivot your approach entirely!
