Students Will Hack Their Way To A Better Georgia In the Inaugural Statewide Collegiate Cup

Collegiate Cup

One hackathon to rule them all

Sandbox Communities, the collaboration platform for Georgia Tech’s Tech Square, is hosting the first statewide collegiate competition focused on improving the quality of life in Georgia. The Collegiate Cup, co-produced by HackGT, is open to student teams from any Georgia college or university.

How can we work together to improve the state?

The Cup will feature three categories: coding, case study and design. Each category will have different judging criteria and teams from the same school can work independently from each other on their respective solutions.

At the end of the weekend competition, the solutions will be judged to determine the winning teams — and Grand Champion — for each category. The best ideas for improving quality of life will also win cash prizes (what every college student needs, right?) Grand champion prize is $1,000 and category champions will each receive $500.

Where do we sign up?

Team applications launch on November 15 and are due December 16.  The selection panel will review team applications and announce which 20-25 teams will compete on January 25-27.
