Rolling Out, an African American-focused news and entertainment content platform, is presenting its first Innovation Digital Entertainment Conference, RIDE. Taking place Sept. 22-23 and combining entertainment, culture, media, entrepreneurship, and innovation, RIDE will highlight the need and opportunity in technology for multicultural millennials and professionals.
The conference will also feature a hackathon, put on by social impact consultancy Amplify 4 Good, focused on developing tech solutions to promote citizen journalism. Six teams will build apps that enable more people to become citizen entertainment journalists leveraging Rolling Out assets. At the end of the hack, the teams will pitch their ideas to celebrity judges for a chance to win $5,000 and a formal partnership with Rolling Out.

- The Business track allows for businesses from the lean startup to the scaling company to learn from CEOs, Executives and other leaders in their respective industries about what it takes to win in business, get funded, grow capital and build their “A” team
- The business panel discussions and keynotes will highlight business models, business partnership in innovation case studies as well as career management
- Topics also include: the defining new model for retail production, the shared economy and e-commerce platforms
Technology
- We will highlight the understanding of why the disruption as a business model has become that of a “technology winners” business mentality
- The importance of diversity in tech and future job opportunities in tech will be highlighted as well
