Every other year, the MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta hosts a Distinguished Entrepreneur Gala to honor a remarkable founder with the E. Milton Bevington Distinguished Entrepreneur Award in recognition of his or her extraordinary contribution to the city’s technology community.
This year, two impressive entrepreneurs will receive this honor. Cardlytics co-founders Scott Grimes (CEO) and Lynne Laube (COO) have bolstered Atlanta’s economy by creating hundreds of jobs, boosting the community through programs like Women of Cardlytics and a partnership with Year Up Atlanta, and devoting their time to organizations like FinTech Atlanta.
“We felt the incredible journey that Scott and Lynne have been on since founding the company in 2008 made them the perfect duo to honor this year,” says Chris Stanley, chair of the MIT Enterprise Forum selection committee.
The 2019 Gala will take place on Thursday, October 3, at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and will include a cocktail reception, dinner, and keynote speech presented by both awardees. Grimes and Laube will be introduced by U.S. Senator David Perdue, a former Cardlytics Board Member.
“Lynne and I are honored to receive this recognition from the MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta,” says Grimes. “Atlanta continues to establish itself as a major fintech player, and I like to think that we are doing our part in helping facilitate this growth by attracting strong talent to work with some of the biggest banks and brands in the world.”
