Launch Party: Center for Civic Innovation

The Center for Civic Innovation serves as a home for conversations, experimentation, and action around social opportunities and challenges in the city of Atlanta

At it’s core, the Center is a 7,500 square foot space and is a resource hub and open campus for social entrepreneurs and changemakers. Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta in the M.Rich Building, the Center’s work focuses on supporting and investing in ideas that improve the service delivery and efficiency of public organizations and finding new ways to engage local communities in decision making on the future of the city.

Event Details:

Date: Friday, September 12, 2014

Time: 6:30 p.m. -9:30 p.m

Location: 115 Martin Luther King Dr. SW, Atlanta, GA 30303 (3rd Floor)

The Center for Civic Innovation will run “civic labs” that bring together leaders and stakeholders across sectors, including government agencies, nonprofits, business, and academia. The civic labs will yield ideas on cutting costs or generating new revenue for public organizations and initiatives, increasing participation in city decision making, and promoting policies that open up the innovation economy in Atlanta. The Center’s first pilot civic lab will be in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) around the issue of “food access.” In addition to the civic labs, the Center will host co-working and office space for social enterprises. The Center will support them with resources to grow and succeed. There is also a 3,500 square foot event space for events and workshops.

If you are interested in working out of the Center, either in the co-working space or by renting an office suite, check out: www.civicatlanta.org.
