Over the summer Anthony Liu, Aditya Sood, and Nitish Sood successfully directed a 24-hour hackathon with 40 students, and they’re ready to do it again. If Atlanta wants to rise to the occasion and become the “Silicon Valley of the South,” then hacker culture at the high school level needs to be celebrated and cultivated. Join Liu and sponsor, Alpharetta Technology Commission for HackAHS this weekend.
HackAHS will be the official entry level competition for the regional Future Leaders of Georgia conference. At the kickoff of the event, a pitch off will be hosted for participants to find teams and share ideas for hacks. During this time, participants interested in competing in the Future Leaders of Georgia conference will be able to pitch a business, and winners will go to the Fulton County conference – and eventually the state conference – where they will have a chance to pitch to hundreds of business officials for grants and funding.

What should you bring?
You, your school ID or drivers license, a laptop, chargers, or anything else you might need within 12 hours (power strips, monitors, etc). Firearms, weapons, alcohol, illegal drugs, or power tools are not allowed. Smiles and awesomeness are welcome.
What are the rules?
This is not a competitive hackathon; instead, Local Hack Day is 12 hours of pure collaborative learning and networking. Therefore, while it is still encouraged for participants to work on new projects at the event, there are no restrictions on what you choose to do. If you have a competitive submission for FBLA or TSA that you want to work on under the help of our mentors, that is perfectly fine. All attendees (hackers, supporters, mentors, volunteers, etc) must abide by the Code of Conduct.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to code. If you want to experience something new and cool, you should definitely register.
