Calling all students from universities near and far
Now in its seventh year, HackATL is one of the largest business hackathons in the Southeast. Run by Emory Entrepreneurship & Venture Management (EEVM), HackATL allows students 48 hours to build and present a business plan to a panel of experienced judges.
The hackathon, which will take place October 18-20, expects to see 300+ college students from across the country. This year, participants will choose a category of their choice and create a startup to solve a social issue.
Whether it be solving a lethal disease using VR, extracting energy from trees, or building an app for world peace, participants are encouraged to create innovative solutions to change the world for the better.
No business, design, or coding experience is required to participate in HackATL. Participants must be current undergraduate or graduate students, or recent alumni that graduated no more than six months before HackATL.

Keynote speaker Louise Hemond is the chief technology officer of IBM Systems Lab Services. Hemond has over 30 years of IT experience, and also served as a Peace Corps Response volunteer working for girls’ empowerment and education through the Let Girls Learn initiative.
