Charles Brewer:
Mr. Brewer, founder of MindSpring, is one of Atlanta’s first startup success stories, bringing to life one of the largest ISP’s in the country from his Midtown Atlanta apartment in 1994. With MindSpring, Mr. Brewer led a different kind of company, one that started with a list of core values instead of a list of products. He will discuss the decisions that led to the EarthLink merger, one of the largest and most talked about events of its day, as well as his thoughts on today’s startup landscape. His experience and reflections are a great inspiration for entrepreneurs in all sectors.
The Center for Civic Innovation:
The Center for Civic Innovation serves as a home for conversations, experimentation, and action around social challenges and opportunities in cities– and they are starting in their hometown of Atlanta. CCI creates networks of social entrepreneurs around key issue areas, runs a program called Civic Labs that helps connect public organizations and local innovators, and helps local agencies, nonprofits, and businesses better connect to their communities through unique capacity building programs.
