Who is in building mode
Chapel Hill-based CData acquired the German data visualization company Data Virtuality. Specifics of the deal were not disclosed, but this is the Series B-level startup’s second acquisition, according to Crunchbase.
The Triangle Tweener Fund announced it made 18 new investments, totally $940k, over the course of Q1 2024. 10 of those were into new startups not already in the North Carolina’s early stage fund.
PrizePicks, the popular Atlanta-based Daily Fantasy Sports platform, announced it was moving forward with a 33,000 square foot HQ in the West Midtown neighborhood. The company is expected to hire 1,000 new employees over the next seven years.
Stord, a supply chain management platform and Atlanta-based unicorn, announced today its acquisition of fullfilment services provider ProPack Logistics. ProPack, a 30 year old company, focuses on multichannel fulfillment and last-mile shipping.
The Atlanta-based law firm Morris, Manning & Martin, which serves many local startups, announced it was expanding its Artificial Intelligence practice. Partner Matt San Roman will chair the practice.
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm was in Atlanta last week to discuss the EV and CleanTech manufacturing boom occuring across the state of Georgia. Atlanta News First has the scoop.
