On The Funding Front

Atlanta-based Aetos just announced a $4 million funding round from Flyover Capital and Tech Square Ventures. We caught up with the team behind Aetos to understand more about what the funding means for their 2025 roadmap here.

Back in 2022, Atlanta-based Pickleads raised a $750,000 pre-seed round from Atlanta-based Overline VC and other investors to launch its court finder web experience. In fall 2023, the team launched a mobile version of its platform, which is now top of both the Android and iOS app stores for those searching for pickleball. The team has also secured endorsements and partnerships with USA Pickleball and the Global Pickleball Federation. Today, the team announced it’s bringing on even more strategic investors to grow Pickleheads. The new $2.5M seed round was led by Atlanta-based Overline VC. More on Hypepotamus.

Totem, the Chattanooga tech startup known for its viral debut product, the Totem Compass, announced it has closed a pre-seed funding round, raising $1.3m from a group of assorted angel investors from around the world, according to a press release.

Questis, a Charleston, South Carolina-based FinTech that is a complete personal finance solution, raised $3.2 million, per Crunchbase.

 

 

M&A News

VoiceWorx.ai, an Atlanta-based startup that Hypepotamus highlighted in 2024, was acquired. According to the startup’s CTO on LinkedIn, the company has been acquired by Concentrix out in California. More here.

 

News From Across The Ecosystem

Launch Tennessee announced this week that Meharry Medical College has officially joined the Tennessee Technology Advancement Consortium (TTAC) as a member institution, joining Tennessee State University, Tennessee Tech and the University of Memphis in a collaborative network created to empower higher education institutions to stimulate the advancement of faculty-led research into the commercial sphere.
