Peter Stolmeier | Real Life Builder in the Virtual Reality World

Meet Peter Stolmeier. He describes himself as a “gameshow host, video producer, and freelance bum,” but we know him as the Chief Technical Officer of ATLvr. We caught up with him to learn more about what he loves about tech and his role as co-founder of a local tech startup. Check him out:

What’s your current role?
I’m the Cofounder and Chief Technical Officer of ATLvr. I provide consulting and technical advice regarding best practices, technical operations and projects & program development. I also serve as the technical lead on the majority of our projects.

What tech/tools are essential to you?
I don’t like using my cellphone as a phone so Twitter and Facebook are pretty important if you want to reach me. When it comes to developing, the Adobe suite and Unity are the biggest for software. For hardware it’s any part I can use for the job. Imagination and a willingness to void warranties is a magic combination.

How do you stay connected with your network?
We use the standard social media outlets, Twitter and Facebook. When we talk to each other internally we like what Google is offering right now. Meetup.com is a great place for getting the word out too.

How do you stay informed & on top of emerging trends in virtual reality?
The internet is a wonderful place. There are quite a few news outlet and blogs that keep track of the newest VR news. Thankfully all of it is aggregated on Reddit, I’d recommend starting there for just about anything.
