Native Atlantan, Backpacker & Freshly Minted Front End Developer

Meet Maggie Martin. She’s looking to get involved in the startup world – give her the opportunity.

What program did you just complete? The Iron Yard’s Front End Engineering program- fall semester cohort.

What past tech projects have you worked on? An app that creates and organizes music playlists, called MixTape Hero.

Any current projects? A carpooling app for people in the Atlanta metro area that uses networking  as an incentive to carpool. Check out her work.

What are your best technical or creative skills? My most valuable creative skill is my understanding of the basic design elements and concepts– I apply this to not just the designs of my projects, but extend these ideas when planning for the overall functionality of an app. That way design and utility are both more intuitive.

What’s next on your list to learn? In the near future I’m interested to develop more projects using Angular js and Ember MVCs. I also would like to become more familiar with PHP & my New Years Resolution is to take a French class.

What’s your ideal internship/job? I’m definitely interested in opportunities to work and learn from startups. I really thrive in environments where I can see something evolve over time into a “finished” product.

Post graduation plans? I’m actively looking for new projects and opportunities while I continue to work on my carpooling app and some of the projects I started while at the Iron Yard .
