Hypepotamus checked out Industrious right after their soft opening earlier this month. I’m not sure if it was the sun streaming through the expansive windows or the smell of fresh paint in the air, but one thing is for sure… this place feels special. At the heart of it all is Jacey Lucus. She already knows each individual resident by name, gives one hell of a tour, and is eager to find out how Industrious can get deeply involved in Atlanta’s thriving innovation ecostsyem.
Read on to find out more about this powerhouse chick & welcome her to the neighborhood.
What’s your current role?
I am currently the community manager for Industrious in Atlanta. We’re a social work environment, which might be a bit different than what people have seen before. We’re basically a collection of private glass offices surrounding beautiful, bright communal spaces. The easiest way to think of it is as very high-end, upscale private co-working.
What was your previous role?
Previously I was a designer in a national marketing firm. Before that I owned my own dance studio and coordinated volunteer events for non-profits.
What is the most exciting part of your new position?
Definitely the people. I love getting to know all about the innovative and creative businesses in the space and how Industrious can help them flourish.
What tech/tools are essential to you?
I can’t live without my iPhone loaded with apps like Workflowy and Flipboard. I’m always on my calendar and email coordinating things for our members and keeping up with the other Industrious offices across the country.
Are you interested in startups?
Yes! Start-ups are a crucial part of our community! We provide them with the tools and space they need to grow, and they in turn invigorate our space with the entrepreneurial spirit we love here at Industrious.
