Freshly Minted Ruby on Rails Dev is Looking for Contract Work

Andrew ‘Chubeesah’ Mercer just finished up the Ruby on Rails program at The Iron Yard. He’s three startups to the wind and looking to sharpen his Ruby and Rails skills at a large tech company. Send some contract work his way and let’s get him hooked on startups instead.

What program did you just complete?
I just completed the Ruby on Rails branch of the awesome Iron Yard. In this class, I helped create a Connect 4 app, a Spotify API called SpotifyMe, and a special project called, Bar Butler.

What are your best technical or creative skills?
My technical skills at the moment are limited to a good grasp of Ruby, a better grasp on Rails, slight experience with HTML and CSS, pretty good at creating APIs, and I can quickly sketch a picture on paper. The next step in my learning process is to hopefully get a firm grasp of Ruby and Rails and then get to work on learning JavaScript.

What’s next?
I am willing to work with a startup company, but a larger company would be preferred. After graduation, I really would like to do some contract work while hopefully being a Teaching Assistant for the Iron Yard in the next cohort.
