Meet Ashley Tindell, a newly trained developer who just completed General Assembly‘s web development course. She’s an awesome candidate for any tech company that values creativity and collaboration. Check out her profile below.
What projects have you worked on during the course?
During the 12 week course, I had the chance to build three projects.
Crave: I worked in a team of three to build this app during a week long sprint at the end of our class. Crave is a Ruby on Rails application that allows users to quickly shop for new tech products at an introductory discount. The user has 20 seconds to purchase or decline a product.
Kaboodle: This was a fun project I worked on with another classmate. We also built this during a week long sprint. Kaboodle is an AngularJS and Ruby on Rails application that runs contests to generate crowd sourced ideas for PR & Marketing campaigns that businesses can immediately implement.
Trailfolio: Trailfolio was my very first project also built during a week long sprint. It is a Ruby on Rails application that allows users to search for trails by location and save them to personalized lists in order to keep track of their adventures. My husband and I are avid hikers so I wanted to create something I would use!
What are your best technical and/or creative skills?
HTML/CSS, Ruby on Rails, Photoshop/Illustrator.
What’s next on your list to learn?
NodeJS, MongoDB, and continuing to refine my JavaScript and AngularJS skills.
What’s your ideal internship/job?
My ideal job would be working as a front end developer in a collaborative team environment.
Interested in startups?
Definitely! I am drawn to the passion and drive it takes to create and build something.
Post graduation plans?
I’d love to find a job or internship to help me take that next step in my career and continue to practice what I’ve learned.
