Venture Atlanta

With registration now open for the largest venture conference in the Southeast, Venture Atlanta announced today that entrepreneur Dave DeWalt will deliver the opening keynote at this year’s conference.

DeWalt has led innovative cybersecurity software companies such as FireEye and McAfee, resulting in billions of dollars in revenue and thousands of jobs. He currently serves as managing director of AllegisCyber as well as a director of various corporate boards including Atlanta’s Delta Airlines, ForgeRock, Forescout and PhantomCyber.

“Dave is one of our country’s most accomplished leaders in software and cybersecurity,” said Accel Partners’ Alex Estevez, chair of the Venture Atlanta speaker committee. “As such, we are pleased to have him kick off this 2018 conference and we look forward to Dave’s guidance for the future success of entrepreneurs and investors in the Southeast.”

This follows keynote addresses last year: Mark Cuban of ABC’s Shark Tank; Ernie Garcia, co-founder of Carvana; and Scott Dorsey, former CEO of ExactTarget.

DeWalt’s keynote address will open the 11th annual Venture Atlanta on Tuesday, October 16. This year’s conference will be held at the Southern Exchange at 200 Peachtree in downtown Atlanta.

Venture Atlanta showcases high-growth technology companies from the southeast aiming to raise capital in the next 12 to 18 months. Last year saw over 30 companies pitch on stage to a sold-out room of more than 900 attendees, along with a Startup Showcase for 15 earlier-stage companies.
