Techstars Atlanta, the local chapter of the nationally-recognized startup accelerator program, has opened up applications for its 2017 class. The mentorship-driven program, which is presented in partnership with Cox Enterprises and located in Ponce City Market, will accept applications from any and all early-stage startups through April 9.
The 90-day accelerator program will run from July through October 2017 and provides mentorship, education, office space and funding to 10 startups. The team is searching for companies that focus on technologies that are driving positive change in an interconnected world.
Historically, Techstars companies have gone on to average more than $2 million raised in outside capital after the program. The participating companies do not need to be from Atlanta, but will need to be located here for the duration of the program.
The 2016 class included participants from four different countries, including five that decided to keep their headquarters or operations in Georgia.
The 2017 program will culminate with a Demo Day on Oct. 10, where approximately 1,000 angel investors, venture capitalists and members of the startup community will gather to learn about the participants’ businesses. (Here’s last year’s Demo Day recap).
Michael Cohn and Tyler Scriven, Techstars Atlanta’s managing directors, will be hosting information sessions and office hours for companies interested in applying for the program. Check out the dates of their world tour here.
