With a $6M Series A Round, Atlanta-based Polygon.io is ready to expand its real-time market data platform

Atlanta-based Polygon.io, which uses real-time APIs to connect users with brings data on stocks, crypto, and other important financial markets, has announced it closed a $6 million Series A round led by e.ventures

Green Visor Capital, an existing investor in Polygon.io, also participated in the round.

Hypepotamus spoke to Quinton Pike, founder and CEO at Polygon.io, back in early 2019 about how the ex-Googler was expanding the company’s abilities to improve real-time stock feeds for day traders.

Polygon.io has focused on making their API easily accessible for developers and clients looking to get real-time stock information.

In the last few months Polygon.io has improved both their public and private networks and upgraded servers. The startup has also launched a free data tier for developers to access end-of-day equities, forex, and crypto data, as well as built a new dashboard for developers to have more control over requests and other important insights.

E.ventures sees the investments as an opportunity to create a scalable solution in the financial market data space. “Polygon.io is the easiest and most scalable solution to pipe security pricing data into any trading related software. With software ‘eating’ security trade execution, their developer-friendly platform will become the foundational building block for the security trading landscape of the future,” said e.ventures’ co-founder Thomas Gieselmann in a statement.

Giselmann also announced that he would be joining Polygon.io’s board of directors.
