The transformation of Philips Arena will be the second-largest in NBA history. After the renovations are completed, Atlanta Hawks fans will watch their favorite team, enjoy a bevy of entertainment options, and congregate in a high-tech, high-touch atmosphere.

The Arena’s tech renovations will focus on providing fans the best viewing experience, utilizing the most modern video capability in sports.

“New technology in our building will significantly enhance the fan experience,” says EVP and Philips Arena General Manager Brett Stefansson. “Visitors will view action on the highest number of large screens in the NBA – including a center-hung scoreboard that is three times larger than its predecessor, four massive screens in each of the four corners of the building, and brand new HD televisions throughout our venue – a total of more than 75 million LEDs.”

Philips Arena will be the first-ever sports venue with 6mm resolution throughout, allowing fans in any seat the best screen experience possible.

The new Arena will also feature a Hawks Meeting and Conference Center, an innovative meeting space including a 250-seat master conference room and four breakout rooms equipped with touch screens, interactive whiteboards, and wireless presentation solutions. Earlier this year, the Hawks and Philips Arena announced that, through a partnership with Coca-Cola’s BridgeCommunity, startups going through the corporate-led commercialization program will get to use Philips Arena for user testing. Starting in 2018, some of the program’s learning will take place in the Arena itself.

Finally, for those who aren’t there for the ball game (or need a break from the action), Philips Arena will integrate high-tech entertainment options as well. Atlanta-based Topgolf will host a Swing Suites simulator lounge within the Arena, featuring two Topgolf simulators. The Suites can be rented by the hour for groups of up to 15.

“Topgolf is proud to partner with such a progressive organization as the Atlanta Hawks and contribute to developing a premium, high-tech, engaging arena experience for fans,” said Topgolf Swing Suites President Ron Powers.

Considering the Hawks national recognition as a top 5 Tech-Savvy Sports Team, Hype would expect nothing less than the best from this #TruetoAtlanta team!
