John Yates Joins the FL Venture Forum

by Tricia Whitlock

The Florida Venture Forum, a statewide support organization for venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, just announced that John C. Yates has joined its Board of Directors. Yates is the Chair of the Technology Group at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm. At the Florida Venture Forum, Yates will work with fellow board members to promote the organization’s mission to help entrepreneurs obtain funding through education, strategic partnerships, and networking opportunities.

The Florida Venture Forum, established in 1984, is known as the leading entrepreneurial networking group in Florida that provides companies with managerial assistance and identifies sources of venture capital. To date, the organization has helped Florida-based companies attract more than $3 billion of venture capital investment.

Yates has been in the technology law field for 30 years and he knows this sector/region inside and out. A few weeks ago Hypepotamus asked him for his perspective on Atlanta’s current technology ecosystem and how it compares and contrasts from the dot-com bubble of 15 years ago. Read his two cents.
