The Iron Yard Code School Opens Second Atlanta Campus

Iron Yard opens second code school in Atlanta.

The Iron Yard, one of the fastest-growing code schools in the world, today announced the opening of its Atlanta-Perimeter campus. This will be the second location in Atlanta, making it the first and only city where campuses have opened in more than one location. With this addition, The Iron Yard now operates 18 in-person campuses in the U.S. and 1 in the U.K.

The Iron Yard teaches web development courses in an immersive, 12-week format designed to prepare students to enter the workforce as junior developers. The first Front-End Engineering and Back-End Engineering courses at the Atlanta – Perimeter campus are scheduled to begin on March 28 with enrollment now open. Future programs offered through The Iron Yard’s Atlanta – Perimeter campus may include Mobile Engineering, Data Science or Design.

TIY-Logo-500px“Atlanta is consistently ranked among the fastest-growing tech markets in the country, which is no surprise to us given the caliber of hiring partners and Advisory Board members we’ve come to know there,” said Eric Dodds, co-founder and CMO for The Iron Yard. “With more than 800 junior-level programming jobs coming online in the last 90 days, the demand for tech talent to fill these positions is incredibly strong. With two campus locations now in Atlanta, we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to help even more students develop the skills they need to launch a career as a software developer.”

The Iron Yard’s full-time programs train people of all backgrounds with the skills they need to be successful as junior-level developers. Full-time instructors and a robust career support program help students master skills in the classroom and navigate the job search process. This support system is enhanced by The Iron Yard’s global network of alumni and employers who are deeply entrenched in tech communities worldwide.

“Since The Iron Yard opened the doors to our first Atlanta campus in 2014, we have graduated 185 students from 15 courses,” said Lindsey Owings, Campus Director at The Iron Yard’s Atlanta-Downtown and Atlanta-Perimeter campus locations. “It has been incredibly rewarding to be a part of these students’ journeys and we look forward to being able to reach even more students with the opening of our second Atlanta campus.”

Courses at the Atlanta-Downtown campus are also currently enrolling. Back-End Engineering with Ruby on Rails and Front-End Engineering with JavaScript and MVC Frameworks will begin on Feb. 22, and an additional Back-End Engineering course will begin on March 28.
