One referral at a time, Atlanta-based startup Dealsby has big plans to reshape how small businesses grow

For small businesses, finding new customers and building brand exposure can be an uphill battle. Atlanta-based Dealsby has a plan to change that…one easy referral link at a time.

Inside The Dealsby Technology

At its core, Dealsby is a platform that connects small businesses with consumers. Through referral-based marketing, the startup makes it easier for businesses to attract and retain customers. Business owners can easily integrate web and app-based referral links or QR codes into their marketing efforts which can be easily shared via SMS, email, or social media.

Both the referrer and their friend receive rewards, discounts, and promotions, creating a “win-win scenario,” the startup’s founder Brent Wright told Hypepotamus.

The platform automates marketing process and referral reminders, which increases brand awareness while reducing customer acquisition costs.

“Dealsby stands out as a unique customer acquisition platform in the referral marketing landscape due to its hyperlocal marketing, community-centric, and geolocation-driven approach. Unlike individual referral marketing software solutions, Dealsby fosters a collective approach where small businesses unite on one easy-to-use referral marketing platform,” he added. “Our small business subscribers are presented to our member consumer subscribers in a powerful and centralized referral solution to offer enticing rewards, discounts, and promotions, creating a viral and vibrant referral network within our small business subscriber’s and consumer communities.”

Dealsby aims to serve industries heavily reliant on referrals, including restaurants, retail, and professional services. The platform’s hyperlocal and community-centric approach is something Wright identified as a major gap in the market while researching the problems faced by small businesses.

“We’re on a mission to reshape the marketplace, one referral at a time,” Wright added. “Our vision is imagining a future where Dealsby is synonymous with community growth and economic vitality. We envision an economy where the marketplace is balanced, consumers save more, and local businesses thrive.”

From Idea to Action: The Origin of Dealsby

Brent Wright – Dealsby

The concept for Dealsby emerged from a personal experience close to the founder’s heart. Growing up, his parents ran a small business that struggled with customer retention and acquisition.

“[That problem] really stuck with me,” the founder shares. While working on his MBA, Wright said he realized that customer acquisition is the second biggest pain point for small businesses, after cash flow. This realization sparked the idea for Dealsby.

Building For Businesses in Atlanta And Beyond

Building any sort of marketplace startup is tough. But Wright has leaned heavily on the Atlanta tech ecosystem to prepare for launch.

“Atlanta has been a great place to build Dealsby. I’ve worked with organizations like Square One Startup School, Goodie Nation, and Atlanta Tech Village, and they’ve been instrumental in our growth,” he added.

Looking ahead, Dealsby aims to become a vital part of Georgia’s small business ecosystem.

“We’ve already signed up over 1,000 consumer subscribers and are onboarding our first small businesses in Georgia.”

Bootstrapped to date, Dealsby recently completed its beta testing. The startup is now gearing up for its official launch on September 17. While Wright is starting in Georgia, he already has eyes on nationwide expansion.
