You know General Assembly’s Atlanta campus as one of the best spots in town to learn a new skill, test your knowledge in a workshop, or just network at one of their many events. Now, the only southeastern campus of the accelerated education startup (headquartered in New York) will also open its doors on a more permanent basis to help provide space for members of its community to do their daily work.
As of May 1st, the Ponce City Market-located campus will allow anyone who has participated in General Assembly programming of any level — from full-time course alumni to those who have simply taken an evening workshop or online class — to purchase a dedicated desk and workspace.
For $350 a month, you get a private desk with 24/7 access (housed in a secure room, locked outside of regular General Assembly office hours and only accessible to those with a key), and access to the campus lounge, kitchen, and conference rooms.
General Assembly co-working plans also include a 30 percent discount on all classes, workshops, and ticketed events.
“General Assembly’s mission has always been to empower a global community to pursue work they love,” said Peter Franconi, General Assembly’s Atlanta-based Regional Director.
“There are many reasons that learners come to General Assembly — from wanting to improve their career trajectory to switching into a new field to getting the skills necessary to start their own entrepreneurial journey. When it became clear that there are members of our global community who are interested in accessing affordable workspaces, we listened and are now making it possible to offer shared workspace and office amenities to our community of lifelong learners.”
Co-working and discounts will also be offered at General Assembly’s campuses in London, New York, and Los Angeles. The company has raised a total of $110 million since being founded in 2010, including a $70 million Series D.
Ponce City Market is also home to co-working space Industrious, which recently expanded to a second floor. Single co-work desks at Industrious start at $450 per month.
