Funding News

West Palm Beach, Florida startup BrightNight announced a $440 million strategic investment from the Infrastructure business at Goldman Sachs Alternatives.

 

Goodie Nation, the startup-focused community organization, was awarded $150,000+ in grants from the Kapor CenterEmory Philanthropy Lab, and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta’s GoATL Economic Inclusion Fund. Wilmington-based Electronic Lab Logs announced Monday it has secured a $2 million lead investment from venture capital firm Rockmont Partners. Details here.

 

Protect3d, a medical device startup from North Carolina leveraging 3D technologies to bring custom protective devices to athletes and competitors everywhere, raised a $1.7 million venture round, per Crunchbase.

Huxley Medical, a developer of technologies that streamline cardiopulmonary care, has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its groundbreaking, chest-worn, sleep apnea diagnostic patch, SANSA, according to a press announcement. With this clearance, Huxley Medical can move forward to market its device. The patch is a first-of-its-kind, at-home, single-point-of-skin-contact diagnostic device and represents a breakthrough in medical innovation. Tech Alpharetta’s Women’s Forum announced the expansion of its STEAM Mentoring Program, now launching its fourth cohort. The program, which partners with Fulton County Schools’ Innovation Academy public magnet high school in Alpharetta, aims to inspire and guide young women toward rewarding careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
