On The Funding Front…
- Winter Park, Florida-based Leasecake, a platform with lease and location management solutions tailored for multi-unit operators, announced the closure of a $10 million Series A extension round. This significant infusion of capital, led by PeakSpan Capital and Las Olas Venture Capital with additional support from a venture debt facility provided by Silicon Valley Bank, a division of First Citizens Bank.
- Orlanda, Florida-based PETE, an EdTech platform concluded its Seed Funding round, securing $2 million led by Cofounders Capital. Angel investors from across Orlando also joined the round, according to a press release from the startup.

Supercomputers for students
Software giant Nvidia and Georgia Tech announced Wednesday they have teamed up to create the first artificial intelligence supercomputer designed for student use. Braves Nation Partners With The Braves
Atlanta-based daily fantasy sports platform PrizePicks announced this week that it has signed on as the Atlanta Braves’ Official Daily Fantasy Sports Partner for the 2024 season. PrizePicks started working with the Braves back in 2020. More on the partnership here.

Innovate Alabama announced recipients of its fourth round of the Innovate Alabama Supplemental Grant Program, awarding nearly $4 million to 22 small businesses. Emory Entrepreneurs
Wilbur Lam, professor and W. Paul Bowers Research Chair in the Department of Pediatrics and the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Emory University and Georgia Tech, has been named Emory’s inaugural vice provost for entrepreneurship. The appointment, effective this month, was announced by Ravi V. Bellamkonda, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.
