Dragon Army’s Jeff Hilimire and Proving Ground’s Danny Davis founded digital agency Spunlogic in 1998, which was later acquired by Engauge. Davis parted ways shortly after to found Proving Ground. Hilimire left to create Dragon Army after Engauge was acquired in
2013 by agency holding company behemoth Publicis.

“To succeed in mobile requires a rich understanding of what motivates people,” said Josh Martin, director of digital and social media at Arby’s Restaurant Group and a Dragon Army client. “Gaming theory supplies the catalyst for the kind of engagement that creates loyalty, community and conversion. With this acquisition, Dragon Army is now uniquely poised to do that. We are excited to continue doing great work with them in 2015.”

On the impact of the acquisition, Davis said, “Over the last four years, our team has studied the impact of mobile gaming among consumers. We’re big believers in the science of gaming. It has the potential to bring mobile experiences the kind of results marketers need, but don’t always get.”
