On Sunday evening, October 14th, a diverse group of startup enthusiasts gathered in The Garage at Tech Square to celebrate the second annual Atlanta Startup Awards. The 2018 Awards, organized jointly by organizations that work within the startup community, celebrate companies, founders, and community supporters that have made strides in the last year.

After an introduction from Adam Harrell, co-founder of Nebo Agency and President of the Startup Atlanta Board of Directors, host Titania Jordan took the stage to introduce the finalists in each category.

Winners were determined by a combination of a judging panel and open public voting. Open nominations were accepted for each awards category, which were then narrowed down to 3-5 finalists before the final decision. The judges were comprised of members of the Startup Atlanta Board of Directors, a group of individuals from the private, public and non-profit sectors involved in the startup community.

A member of the judging committee announced each winner for the six company and two individual awards. The judges highlighted the importance of both early-stage and more mature startups to Atlanta’s ecosystem.

“These companies are literally the economic engine of the city,” said Harrell when presenting the winner of the Best Growth Stage Startup category, which recognized a company that is post-Series A, with ARR of over $3-5 million and at least 40 employees. The winner, restaurant and venue event management software Gather Technologies, employs over 100 in Atlanta and continues to expand quickly.

Following the awards ceremony, the winners, finalists, family and friends gathered to celebrate and network.
