11-11 Ventures, an Alpharetta-based seed and Series A venture capital firm, has committed to raising a $1 million capital vehicle to invest exclusively in companies presenting at this year’s Venture Atlanta conference. Venture Atlanta, now in its 11th year, is the largest venture investor conference in the Southeast.
11-11 will commit the first capital for the Venture Atlanta-exclusive pot out of its main venture fund. The firm’s investments include Software Automation, Monetizr and Sudu.
Following that, individual accredited investors can join the initiative by investing through through the firm’s Global Accredited Investor Network (GAIN) platform, a membership-based platform that allows individual investors to choose which deals they want to participate in alongside 11-11 Ventures.
The firm says that this model offers accredited investors a lower barrier of entry (both cost and commitment-wise) than joining as an LP in a traditional fund. Investments are typically between $15,000-$25,000 per deal.
In this case, the $1 million will go towards up to five companies that present at Venture Atlanta. The companies will be chosen by a small committee of 11-11 Ventures partners and advisors, says Dr. Paul Lopez, co-founder and partner at the firm.
“Venture Atlanta has proven to feature the most exciting and fastest-growing early-stage technology companies in the Southeast,” said Arul Murugan, 11-11 Ventures’ CEO and managing partner, in a statement. The conference’s presenting companies have raised a total of $2.5 billion and seen $14 billion in exits over the last decade.
Investors that want to learn more about participating in the project can attend an info session on September 13.
