The Product Manager at StudentBridge is responsible for all aspects of the company’s expanding product suite. Core responsibilities include working with the executive team to understand company values and vision as well as with sales and marketing to identify potential product and product feature opportunities; conducting market research; generating product requirements and specifications, product roadmaps, and timetables; pricing; and commercialization plans. Our development team strives to understand the specific challenges that both existing customers and emerging prospects are faced with and map StudentBridge’s solutions to achieve the desired positive business outcomes. It is imperative that you demonstrate leadership qualities, ethical behavior, work ethic, and self-motivation.
The ideal candidate will focus on the organization and strategic planning necessary to bring new products and features to market, prioritizing and balancing needs across a growing suite of products. Attention to detail while understanding and creating the high-level strategy is a must. Candidate will show a history of launching new products, hitting deadlines, and loving the challenges that come with working at a fast-growth startup. The candidate would work full-time in our Atlanta office.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
-Work closely with Executives, Sales, and Marketing to identify new products and product features
-Create and review product specifications and requirements; appraise new product ideas, packaging, and messaging
-Research market state to determine product needs
-Assess competitive landscape by comparing product features and benefits
-Create and review product roadmaps and maintain delivery timelines
-Launch new products by analyzing product requirements and development programs; prepare return-on-investment analyses; establish and meet schedules with engineering, development and production
-Create product pricing
-Provide analytics for management by preparing product sales forecasts
-Build product management team by recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, and training employees
-Oversee day-to-day product development to ensure specifications and timelines are met
-Manage part-time and full-time, local and remote employees and contractors
-Work closely with technology vendors and partners to assess capabilities, negotiate partnership agreements and to integrate products and services into existing technology
-Cultivate relationships with supporting members of the sales and marketing teams
Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:
-5+ years experience in product management and development leadership; early stage Sass/Cloud company experience strongly preferred
-Experience managing engineering and product development teams, and successfully architecting, building and deploying complex software products
-Working knowledge of current marketing automation platforms, digital marketing platforms, and rich media delivery systems
-Experience developing software-based minimum viable products using lean processes
-Experience developing digital media and data analytics products preferred
-Effectively managed multiple complex technology projects simultaneously from inception to completion involving employees and contractors
-Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships
-Organizational, attention to detail, and time-management skills
-Enthusiastic and passionate problem solver
-Technology enthusiast, self-starter that works well in teams and synergetic environments
-Knowledge of the higher education space preferred
-BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or business required. Master’s degree in business is a plus
