Become A Highly Paid Artist Without Art World Or Gallery Connect

Unstarving Artists helps everyday people become successful artists without art world or gallery connections. For painters, drawers, sculptors and anyone else actively or aspiring to make a living as a visual artist, there isn’t a better program for learning how to sell artwork. More importantly, there isn’t a team more committed to helping artists earn a living doing work that matters.

Unstarving Artists is on a mission to help artists earn $1B using our training programs. We are 100% independent, 100% remote, and are growing rapidly. We are proud to have built a healthy culture of caring, driven, and fun team members. If you thrive off connecting with people, making sure the figurative trains run on time, care about creating an incredible culture, and have seen rapid growth, this might be the role for you!

We’re looking for a Head of Operations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in operations or management of early-stage companies that are moving quickly OR experience in comparable roles. You thrive with complete autonomy and are particularly good at building systems and building strong relationships. You’re highly empathetic, able to understand the needs of others and proactively meet those needs without being asked. You get satisfaction from managing projects that maintain business requirements and mitigate risk. And you do all this while helping us build a healthy culture for our incredible team.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for supporting Unstarving Artists team, culture, and the systems that keep Unstarving Artists running. This person will collaborate with the founder on a variety of projects; manage and streamline current and future systems; help us maintain compliance; and provide support with communication, scheduling, reporting, and more.

This person is a team player, efficiency enabler, and relationship builder. You don’t mind managing a variety of schedules, tasks, and projects all in the same day. The role will ideally be based in Atlanta, Georgia alongside our founder. This is not an entry-level position.

The right person will

  • Support the founder’s top priorities and help create space for them to focus
  • Help define and nurture our team culture
  • Create and run our payroll / commission tracking process
  • Create and run our EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) processes
  • Create and run our recruiting, onboarding, and off-boarding processes
  • Create and manage the employee handbook
  • Create and administer our benefits package
  • Recruit 2+ remote team members in your first year
  • Source and manage a co-working office space in Atlanta
  • Create and run our team events process
  • Create and run our retreats process (virtual and in-person)
  • Compile and present reporting on different projects
  • Assist with Marketing or Client Success projects as needed
  • Handle other miscellaneous projects and duties as needed

A successful candidate will have a combination of the following:

  • 3-5+ years in operations or equivalent experience (Operations, Chief of Staff, Startup Founders, People Operations, etc.)
  • Backgrounds in Systems, Operations, Engineering, or Industrial Design are welcomed
  • MBAs are welcomed
  • Enthusiasm and belief in the Unstarving Artists philosophy and mission* (we are a mission focused company)
  • Resonance with our team values†
  • Excellent computer and research skills (Mac preferred)
  • Comfort with data, metrics, and creating reports
  • Comfort with quickly learning new software applications as needed
  • Thoughtful, direct, and kind communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong project management skills – you’re not afraid of tight deadlines, you keep your work organized and outcome-focused, and you’re a pro with time management
  • Comfort handling confidential and highly sensitive information with discretion
  • A calm, professional, and approachable demeanor when handling sensitive issues or tricky changes in priority
  • Comfort making adjustments and changes on the fly with a positive, collaborative attitude
  • Strong social and emotional intelligence – you enjoy cultivating relationships with all types of people
  • Adaptable and flexible – you’re comfortable handling miscellaneous projects and duties as needed
  • Be based in the United States. Atlanta, Georgia is strongly preferred, but highly qualified candidates anywhere in the US will be considered.
