About SimplePart:
SimplePart builds smart world-class eCommerce and Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) solutions for the world’s leading automakers. If you’ve bought an OEM car part online from a car dealer in the last decade, you likely used SimplePart’s technology. Our marketing, platform and data connects more than 9 million monthly online shoppers to the parts, accessories and service they need to keep their cars running.
SimplePart aspires to reflect the diverse audiences we serve, by building a community of rich and diverse perspectives, ideas, backgrounds and cultures. We’re looking for fresh ideas from all areas.
We are and will always be a data and engineering company – our products handle information at massive scale, extending well beyond off-the-shelf eCommerce. Our teams are fast-paced, versatile and ready to take on technology’s greatest challenges and make an impact on millions of users.
The Role:
SimplePart’s Development Team is looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to embed within the team to curate, organize and monitor work flowing through the team. You will help the team get – and stay – organized, ensure we work the right balance of work, meet deadlines, communicate crisply and deliver high quality work. We will look to you to communicate on behalf of the team – about project status and progress – with internal business teams.
This is not a traditional Project Manager role. There are no GANTT charts, and no MS Project work. Our workflow is agile and responsive to the needs of the business. For that to work, we have a set of processes to govern which work we choose – and which leave enough room for the work which chooses us. The Technical Delivery Manager helps us juggle all that inbound work, and pick from it the most important and meaningful projects for the team.
To be effective in this role, we need you to be organized and detail oriented. You will also need to be agile, flexible, and open to change. You will be helping us to brainstorm/explore potential new work, gather/refine requirements, and oversee that work through the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Curate the inbound flow of work from Enterprise Clients, Business and Technical Teams.
Maintain a clear view of the team’s current workload, and the next few sprints.
Help us maintain a long term plan of “big” future projects.
Work with business teams to maintain a prioritized list of their “next” most important work for the team.
Communicate directly with business teams about project status and progress.
Ensure projects are “ready to work” for the team.
Participate in our hybrid-agile process, working in two week sprints.
Track team performance to improve planning and product quality.
Qualifications:
Four year college degree (MIS, CIS, CS, IT, Business, Marketing or similar) or equivalent experience.
Organized, detail oriented – and not afraid to brainstorm.
Must have an understanding of Scrum and Product best practices and the flexibility to adapt those best practices to fit the needs of the business
