SimplePart is looking for a SQL Data Engineer to help expand our digital footprint and develop cutting edge analytics solutions that enhance our user experience, supports our brand, and delights our customers. This person will be key in enabling digital data transformation and will drive technical solutions to help improve the scalability and performance of our databases, data integrations, dashboarding and reporting, and analytics products and services.
In this role, you will leverage existing and develop new analytics infrastructure to assist with business intelligence reporting, strategic analysis, database development, and digital product delivery. You will also contribute to the strategic approach and roadmap for all aspects of data analytics initiatives from conception to completion. Additionally, you will apply expertise in data analysis and visualization to drive past the numbers and help build recommendations for strategic decisions and ongoing digital initiatives focusing on efforts that will provide increased flexibility, accessibility, and quality of our data. You will also partner with product/application owners, business leaders, marketing, software dev, and customer advocates to execute initiatives as well as foster a culture of data informed decision-making.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and build out new integrations to support data warehouse enrichment
Serve as a subject matter expert, thought leader and innovation champion on data strategies across the enterprise
Design data integrations and data quality framework and work closely with internal partners to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture
Ensure analytics systems meet business requirements and implement industry best practices
Proactively identify data gaps, errors, anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies in the content, structure, and relationships within databases
Leverage and deploy methodologies and techniques that increase collaboration and promotes a culture of experimentation and innovation
Successfully collaborate and partner with internal leaders and stakeholders to understand objectives and establish priorities
What You Have (Qualifications):
Degree and 2+ years of experience in data analytics, database development, data science, or a related field
Ability to translate complex data into business insights that drive lasting value
Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling concepts, and database design
Knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques including model validation
Proficient in data visualization development, including advanced calculations and interactive visuals
Exceptional collaboration skills across a variety of audiences; can successfully advocate data initiatives across competing objectives and constraints within business, IT and executive leadership
Ability to multi-task with strong decision-making, analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong ability to communicate ideas effectively- both technical and conceptual; verbally and written
Demonstrated experience in establishing and enforcing internal processes and best-practices that ensure consistent quality in design and execution of work
