The Development Team:

On SimplePart’s Platform Development Team you have the chance to brainstorm, collaborate and grow alongside some of the best and brightest engineers in the world. As a group, we rally together to create responsive and elegant web applications that scale to millions of users in dozens of countries and languages.

We are looking for active engagement, and an iterative mindset from everyone on the team. We’ll hit “perfect” not all at once, but by steadily iterating and learning over time. As a mature, stable platform, our primary focus is new development. In this, each member of the team has the ability to impact all aspects of the development process.

The Job:

As an Production Operations DBA you will be responsible for a global federation of highly available MS-SQL servers serving millions of users under strict SLAs. Our architecture is specialized and non-traditional, and is supported by robust monitoring and automated redundancies. This is a hands-on position where you will be working with t-sql to develop automations, tune performance, and manage our in-house-built Synchronization and Monitoring platforms, both applications in MS-SQL.

This role has a rotating Duty component in support of (very rare) off-hours incidents.

Qualifications:

Advanced skills in Performance Tuning
Computer Science or CIS degree or equivalent professional experience
5+ years working at enterprise scale in MS-SQL
Seeking experienced Senior level candidates.
Every role on the team is a hands-on position, working in a hybrid agile (two week sprint) model building big, meaningful new technology at the cutting edge of digital commerce for some of the world’s biggest and most recognizable brands. Our stack is SQL (stored procedures), C# and Vue.js running a Component model on top of Webforms. We host on owned equipment (not cloud) and we do no outsourcing or offshore work of any kind. This is a fun, flexible, iterative team focused exclusively on our eCommerce and EPC platform. You will help us build crisp, clean, interactive experiences to make complex catalogs of millions of products accessible and easy to understand for most people.
