About SimplePart:

SimplePart builds smart world-class eCommerce and Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) solutions for the world’s leading automakers. If you’ve bought an OEM car part online from a car dealer in the last decade, you likely used SimplePart’s technology. Our marketing, platform and data connects more than 9 million monthly online shoppers to the parts, accessories and service they need to keep their cars running.

SimplePart aspires to reflect the diverse audiences we serve, by building a community of rich and diverse perspectives, ideas, backgrounds and cultures. We’re looking for fresh ideas from all areas.

We are and will always be a data and engineering company – our products handle information at massive scale, extending well beyond off-the-shelf eCommerce. Our teams are fast-paced, versatile and ready to take on technology’s greatest challenges and make an impact on millions of users.

The SQL Operations Team:

We are and will always be a data and engineering company – our products handle information at massive scale, extending well beyond off-the-shelf eCommerce, Analytics and Data Science. Our teams are fast-paced, versatile and ready to take on technology’s greatest challenges and make an impact on millions of users.

On SimplePart’s SQL Operations Team you have the chance to brainstorm, collaborate and grow alongside some of the best and brightest database engineers in the world. As a group, we focus on leveraging MS-SQL in innovative ways to deliver globally federated and highly available solutions which scale elegantly to millions of users in dozens of countries and languages.

We are looking for active engagement, and an iterative mindset from everyone on the team. We’ll hit “perfect” not all at once, but by steadily iterating and learning over time. As a mature, stable platform, our primary focus is new development – not fire fighting.

The Job:

As a data company we have many terabytes of data on-hand about retail parts eCommerce shoppers – more than any other company anywhere in the world. Our challenge is organizing and leveraging all that data – using it to understand user behavior and create a better experience. We do this today using a Data Warehouse model supporting client-facing in-application reporting, client-facing PowerBI data marts and dashboards – as well as an in-house analytics team for special projects and data science initiatives. Our Data Warehouse ecosystem also powers learning systems within our eCommerce applications.

In this role you would be the primary Database Administrator for our Data Warehouse ecosystem, responsible for its health and performance as well as data movement and ongoing evolution and improvement of architecture and capabilities. There is extensive monitoring in place, and a stable set of jobs and integrations powering interoperation and data-flow between systems. There is no duty component to this role – this is a standard business hours position.

Qualifications:

Computer Science or CIS degree or equivalent professional experience
Advanced knowledge of MS-SQL capabilities as well as t-SQL development
5+ years working in large scale MS-SQL Data Warehouse environments
Seeking experienced Senior level candidates.
Every role on the team is a hands-on position, working in a hybrid agile model at the cutting edge of database engineering and digital commerce for some of the world’s biggest and most recognizable brands. Our stack is SQL (stored procedures) and C# deployed across multiple global, federated and synchronized datacenters. We host on owned equipment (not cloud) and we do no outsourcing or offshore work of any kind. This is a fun, flexible, iterative team focused on our MS-SQL architecture including Production, Warehousing, Catalog ETL and Development.

It’s not just about the product though. Community, learning, growth and professional development are key values of the team – and we make time to celebrate and reflect.

We offer our employees:

Company paid health/dental/vision/life/disability benefits
Competitive pay
Medical FSA
Dependent Care FSA with company contribution
401k plan with company match
Maternity/Paternity leave
Tuition assistance
Flexible vacation
Vacation bonus
Commuter benefits
