DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a passionate, highly-motivated and creative Art Director with seasoned instincts for concepting and executing a wide range of creative projects. We are seeking an individual with the ideal blend of high-level design strategy, creative problem solving and systems thinking combined with proven ‘hands-on’ execution skills. The Art Director role requires a keen eye and brain for strategy, storytelling and craftsmanship in all media spaces. You must have the ability to share ideas clearly and simply to team members and our clients. You will lead, mentor and provide clear direction to contractors and internal teammates on your projects.

As an Art Director, your job is to make beautiful but strategic work and become more involved in selling it. You love concepting and executing great ideas. You make type, color & craft matter. You are able to sell your own ideas and are eager to and often invited to present your work in client meetings. Clients and co-workers respect your talents and opinions.

You make small assignments bigger, and on big assignments, you come through with awards-worthy solutions. You can execute your ideas all the way through production. You have a great attitude and thrive on problem-solving.

This role works within the creative team on assigned projects and this position currently will report directly to the COO with an opportunity to collaborate with team members of all levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Champion the Creative Vision
Maintain and elevate the visual standards
Recognize a client’s needs and translate them into a creative concept- see projects from conceptualization to reality for a variety of channels (email, social, web)
Provide visual design input and ideas as well as actually develop designs from conceptual mockups to finalized assets
Lead contractors and meetings both internally and externally with confidence, excitement and grace
Create visual concepts and ideas that represent knowledge of design/interaction best practices and current and trending social media best practices
Collaborate with Account, Digital, Sales and Creative Team peers to create innovative, fresh, and effective creative solutions as well as ensure the highest quality designs, functionality and messaging
Have a very strong understanding of how user experience and insights translate into creative
Be the creative spokesperson for projects to ensure that the creative integrity of the work stays intact
Bring genuine, original creative ideas to the table
Understand the structure of a brand’s identity-how the visual and verbal executions come together to create a holistic brand experience
Responsible for sound, strategic thinking for integrated campaign work
Constant awareness of the industry, including groundbreaking ideas, emerging technologies and business solutions
Compile presentation decks for internal and external review
Help evaluate and source photographers, videographers and creative contractors

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to work well with a variety of team members
Familiar with photo studio equipment, lighting, and propping tricks
Proven experience with on-set standards, practices, and expectations
Knowledgeable about styling techniques and trends
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (PSD, AI, Premiere, et cetera)
Enjoy problem-solving and possess the ability to translate business problems into creative and compelling visual solutions
Comfortable modifying and troubleshooting ongoing client feedback
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities while delivering on a consistently high standard of quality
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a perfect attention to detail, brand standards and accuracy
Excellent concepting skills: Shot list creation
Excellent team building and collaboration skills
Ability to critique and deliver constructive criticism
Proficiency in video, digital, social, print and beyond-campaign integration across all channels
Education from a Design or Graphic Arts school for BA/BS in Advertising, Marketing or Art preferred
Infectious curiosity, at all times
Experience directing content across a wide range of platforms and mediums (video, animation, image, GIF, graphics, etc.)
Track-record of innovation and risk-taking
