Job Description 

Grayshift is seeking an innovative and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow the Forensic Extraction team of Software Engineers responsible for the system integration and design implementation of the GrayKey’s security capabilities. An ideal candidate would be an accomplished Engineering Manager with a proven history of leading and growing exceptional teams, and great at navigating complex issues with an analytical mind.

Remote-Friendly role based in the United States (HQ is in Atlanta, GA).  

Key Responsibilities: 

Technical Contribution and Leadership: 
– Actively lead (80%) and contribute (20%) to development projects;
– Schedule and deliver software features on a regular cadence with focus on quality and predictability;
– Provide technical direction for the design, implementation, and deployment of Grayshift’s extraction capabilities;
– Develop team members through regular coaching, supporting career growth, and conducting performance reviews;

Collaboration: 
– Work with researchers and engineers to analyze, develop, and recommend options for technical solutions;
– Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to develop solutions for departmental roadmaps;
– Communicate with executive team to update project status and plan strategic objectives;

Process Improvement: 
– Guide continuous improvement for the release management processes including planning, assessing status, mitigating risks, and measuring results;
– Oversee CI/CD and automated testing improvements;
– Establish continuous process improvement practices through tools such as performance metrics, Knowledge Management, and Root-Cause-Analysis;
– Ensure appropriate controls and documentation are followed to meet security, compliance and privacy requirements across all systems.

Skills & Requirements:
– 5+ years of software engineering experience;
– 1+ years of management experience leading a team of cybersecurity or other low-level software developers;
– Proficient in Python and C;
– Experience with agile/scrum processes;
– ~5% required travel to Atlanta, GA.

Desired:
– Experience in low-level mobile device development;
– Experience in digital forensics;
– Experience in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and exploit development.
