About the opportunity
Calendly is looking for a Security Engineer to join our fast growing team where we understand customer trust and data protection are key to our success. This specialized role will join our site reliability squad to focus on security strategy and development best-practices for our SaaS solution. Armed with a strong foundation in cloud security and hands-on implementation, a successful individual will align with business, development, and operations to evangelize, implement, and validate our enterprise application.
Working together with our development teams, quality assurance engineers, and other stakeholders, this role is tasked with empowering our teams to build secure software and ensuring the continued security of our applications. You will need to be comfortable collaborating in our codebase as well as leading constructive dialogue about how we can improve our security practices as we grow.
Our ideal candidate has a broad understanding of network and application safe-guards for a high-performance, cloud-based architecture. Experience in data classification, successful compliance certifications, and implementation of procedural controls, this individual is equally comfortable explaining solutions as they are in implementing necessary analysis software and scripts.
Some challenges you’ll get to tackle
-Establish and validate security controls during the SDLC
-Facilitate and perform static and dynamic code analysis (1st party and 3rd party)
-Implement new capabilities and refine existing monitoring
-Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and exercises
-Threat modeling and risk analysis for implementation plans
-Incident review, mitigation, and resolution
-Identify and implement additional controls to enforce policies
-Participate in audits, policy revision, and procedure definitions
-Educate teams on standards, controls, and best practices in software security
You should apply if you have:
-5+ years proven software security experience with a SaaS company
-Certified software applications via formal compliance review (SOC, PCI, HiTrust, etc)
-Experience incorporating a variety of automation tools in a continuous delivery framework
-Success in a challenging, fast-paced and collaborative environment
-Ability to communicate with business and technical stakeholders alike
-Teaching mentality in the pursuit of company-wide security awareness and adherence
-US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (we do not sponsor at this time)
Bonus if you have experience with:
-Experience working with build systems (Buildkit, Jenkins, TravisCI, etc…)
