Your Adventure Awaits | HackATL to Host Virtual Conference for Student Hackers

Start up from the ground up with undergraduate students from across the nation

Run by Emory Entrepreneurship & Venture Management (EEVM), HackATL is the most prominent business hackathon in the Southeast.  Since its inception in 2013, the hackathon has attracted 1,000+ students from top undergraduate programs across the United States. Entering into its eighth year, HackATL is back and better than ever.  This year, HackATL is extending the hack experience to as many students as possible. For the first time ever, HackATL will  host the event virtually via Devpost in order to ensure safety and accessibility for all involved.

The rundown

The participants are given 48 hours to develop a prototype and pitch it to judges, angel investors, and venture capitalists. The goal of the event is to create innovative solutions that cater to the world’s most pressing issues. Participants are encouraged to change the world for the better by coming up with innovative solutions to promote social progress—such as solutions that tackle the current socioeconomic gap in our society, media literacy, or even fashion sustainability.

This year’s theme is Adventure is Out There. The goal of this theme is to encourage participants to explore the unconventional. By going away from the ordinary, participants will be able to develop breakthroughs that will change the world for the better.
