48in48 Super Service Weekend

When: Friday-Sunday, January 25-27, 2019

Where: Atlanta Tech Village, Buckhead

What: In honor of Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, annual service event 48in48 is hosting a special “Super Service” event the weekend before the big game. 48in48, sponsored nationally by Delta, recruits technology and digital marketing professionals to build 48 websites for 48 non-profits — all in 48 hours.

Collegiate Cup

When: Friday-Sunday, January 25-27, 2019

Where: The Garage at Tech Square

What: Sandbox Communities, the collaboration platform for Georgia Tech’s Tech Square, is hosting the first statewide collegiate competition focused on improving the quality of life in Georgia. The Collegiate Cup, co-produced by HackGT, is open to student teams from any Georgia college or university.

Sports, Music & Entertainment Summit

When: Saturday, January 26, 2019

Where: John Marshall Law School, Midtown

What: SMES is a one-day summit that will feature panels, workshops, interviews and an evening mixer that will provide education and networking opportunities within the sports, music, and entertainment industries for local law students and professionals.

Power Talk: Bigger Than The Game

When: Tuesday, January 29, 2019

Where: Atlanta Tech Village, Buckhead

What: This panel-style discussion and networking event, led by professional athletes and sports-influenced entrepreneurs, will take attendees behind the scenes of the sports world to learn about brand partnerships, endorsements, influencer marketing, and the latest technology changing the game.

Where: General Assembly Atlanta, Midtown

What: Sports thought leaders will explore new intersections between their field and technology and discuss how they’ve been impacted by the rise of tech, ways they’ve adapted and innovated along the way, and what they expect to see in the future.

CultureShock ATL: Atlanta Black Tech 2019 Celebration

NFL 1st and Future Startup Pitch

When: Saturday, February 2, 2019

Where: Ferst Center for the Arts, downtown Atlanta

What: 1st and Future, presented by Arrow Electronics and hosted with Georgia Tech, is the NFL’s annual Super Bowl pitch competition designed to spur innovation in athlete safety and performance. Nine startups will present to a panel of judges and an exclusive audience including NFL team owners and executives, representatives from the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee, Arrow Electronics and Georgia Tech.
