Startup Pirates Is Just 3 Weeks Away

That’s right! In 3 weeks the first edition of Startup Pirates will set anchor in Atlanta and The Iron Yard will be transformed into pirate headquarters.

Startup Pirates is an intense 8 day program that will teach you how to go from “I have an idea” to “I have a business” with 7 hands-on workshops, mentoring sessions, entrepreneur talks, team-building and more.

You will work in teams on a business idea and apply the concepts you learned during the workshops and get feedback from 15+ mentors who are experienced entrepreneurs, all this while having fun being a pirate!

In the end the teams will have the opportunity to pitch to successful business leaders and receive prizes that enable them to continue to work on their idea, like 3 months co-work space at Deskhub and Strongbox West. 30 curious, motivated and passionate pirates will be selected for the program, so fill out the application and tell them why you’d make an extraordinary addition to Startup Pirates!

Who can apply:
– People from any background and expertise who are seeking education in entrepreneurship and are willing to join a team to help develop a business idea.
– People with a business idea that are looking for validation and a team to work with.
– Teams with a business idea that need to work on its fundamentals and refocus.

What to expect:
The Pirate crew is busy bringing together great speakers, mentors and judges from several local organizations and startups to help their pirates sail through the fundamentals of creating a business.

In the mornings you’ll be diving into 7 workshops on Service Design Thinking (Sandjar Kozubaev), Team Management (Mike Ames), Lean Business Model Canvas (Ed Rieker), Costumer Development, Pitching (Jen Bonnett), Finance (Gail Reid) and Branding (Craig Johnson), followed by intense working, mentoring and pitching sessions in the afternoon.

But don’t think it’s all work and no play. Practice your best pirate lingo and come prepared for some great team-building experiences, networking, and lots of aaaaarrrrggghhhh.
