Savannah’s 10th Annual Geekend Conference Brings Its Biggest and Best Lineup Yet

Georgia’s best and brightest entrepreneurs, technologists, makers, and change agents.

Savannah is know for history, architecture, and food… but how about innovation? For the last ten years, The Creative Coast has been hosting Geekend, a conference that brings together innovators, creatives and entrepreneurs to learn about new industries and showcase local technology.

This year, the team is raising the bar with a new venue, new partners, and an extended roster of speakers, panelists and workshops.

“For Geekend’s 10th anniversary, we’re focusing on what’s happening now and how we can do now better,” says Aleshia Howell, Program Director of The Creative Coast.  “We’re being intentional about involving a variety of people and industries — logistics, medicine and film, to name a few — that are putting Savannah on the map. With the new venue, the Savannah Cultural Arts Center, and a few surprises in store, we’re confident that this year will be a game-changer.”

The two-day event will feature leading designers, technologists, entrepreneurs and thought leaders from Savannah and across Georgia. Panels and conversations will focus on topics including data, film, food, failure, gaming, digital marketing, IP, AI, and UX/UI.

The conference will close out with an inspiring keynote from Cath Coetzer, Global Innovation Portfolio Director at Coca-Cola.

Jen Bonnett, Executive Director of the Creative Coast and former General Manager of the ATDC incubator, says she leveraged her own network, as well as The Creative Coast community, to bring in a world-class speaker lineup.

“We were able to leverage our professional networks of innovators, designers, coders and community catalysts across the state and region to pull together the best lineup of speakers in our ten-year history,” says Bonnett.

Geekend will conclude with closing keynote speaker, Cath Coetzer, head of global innovation at Coca-Cola, who will share her insights on technology and innovation.
