Wain Kellum Honored The MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta’s 2017 Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year!

Every other year, The MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta honors a local entrepreneur of distinction for their contributions to the local economy through successful and innovative enterprises. This year MIT has announced that Wain Vellum will be honored as the 2017 E. Milton Bevington Distinguished Entrepreneur Award honoree. Kellum will serve as the keynote speaker at the MITEF 2017 Distinguished Entrepreneur Gala to be held May 9th at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. 

Kellum is Managing Partner of Canal Partners, responsible for identification of potential acquisition targets, due diligence, financial analysis and final investment decision making.

He serves as a Strategic Advisor to Vonage Holdings following a successful tenure as President of Vonage Business Solutions and CEO of Vocalocity, acquired by Vonage in 2013. Under Wain’s leadership, the business grew from $8M in annualized recurring revenue to over $100M. Vocalocity was the sixth successful company that Kellum led, and he has completed successful equity transactions with a variety of companies including Microsoft and HP. He is an active early stage investor, team member and board member in over a dozen companies that have had successful exits and is currently active with Call Rail, Click Dimensions, Fuel My Club, Ruby Receptionists and BizMosis.

Kellum was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Southeast, named one of the 25 most influential people in the Southeast technology community by TechJournal South and received the “Spirit of Endeavor” Award for Outstanding Leadership.
