Miller Lite Wants to Tap into GA Entrepreneurship (with Daymond John)

by Angela King

Miller Lite, a brand sold by MillerCoors based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has its eye on some of Georgia’s promising companies and has been making rapid headway in its quest to find the best of the best.  Now who could argue with this? Georgia is well know for its thriving startup scene, its growing list of local breweries, its massive footprint in the FinTech space, a winning start in tech talent growth and one helk of a company acquisition list.

MillerCoors, announced just days ago that it would acquire a majority interest in Terrapin Beer Company, an Athens based craft brewery best known for its innovative and exciting beers. Arguably, one of Georgia’s favorite brewing companies, Terrapin sold a minority interest to the craft and import division of MillerCoors, Tenth and Blake Beer Company in early 2012 and with Terrapins major achievements, it was only a matter of time before the beer company would be back.

Fast forward to today, Miller Lite has announced its search for Georgia entrepreneurs with a solid pitch, product and business model.  Miller Lite Tap The Future Live Pitch event will be this Thursday, July 28th at Opera Nightclub! Semifinalist entrepreneurs will pitch their business idea for a chance to win $200,000 to fund their business. Guests will get a chance to ask business questions to Daymond John from ABC’s “Shark Tank”, and network with like-minded entrepreneurs while enjoying complimentary Miller Lite.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and show starts at 7:30 p.m. sharp.

In addition, three lucky audience members will be randomly selected for an “On-The-Spot” business pitch. Daymond and the crew of judges will provide their expert advice and will award the best pitch a $500 gift card.
