Arts, Crafts, Robots… Oh my!
Maker Faire is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness. This two-day celebration of the local Maker Movement is a place where people can show what they are making and share what they are learning.
What is a Maker?
People who make things, of course! What, how, and why differs vastly from person to person and project to project. Makers are hobbyists, enthusiasts, students or teachers. Some makers become entrepreneurs and take their inventions to the marketplace, sparking what’s being called ‘the next industrial revolution.’
So, what’s Maker Faire?
Maker Faire Atlanta started as a Mini-Maker Faire in 2011 on the campus of Georgia Tech. It grew into a full-fledged Maker Faire in 2014, moving to downtown Decatur in search of more space.
This year’s Faire will be held in downtown Atlanta and will feature some of the city’s most popular creators such as KSU Motorsports, Student Launch at Georgia Tech, Project Music Connector and many others.
Come see what amazing things are happening in this vibrant community, October 27-28!
