TAG is teaming up with the Georgia Food Bank Association to engage Georgia’s technology and startup community in the fight against hunger through Bytes for Bites, a friendly food and funding competition to benefit the regional Food Banks.
For two weeks, tech companies, startups, co-working spaces and IT departments across the state can compete to raise the most food and funds for their regional food bank. For every dollar raised during the competition, a company earns four points; for every pound of food raised, a company earns one point. Awards are given based on points per employee, so any size company can be competitive!
In 2017, over 40 technology companies representing more than 3,000 members of the industry raised over $69,000 and 4,000 pounds of food for Georgia’s food banks — the equivalent of 275,158 meals for families and children struggling with hunger.
